Australia is the world’s biggest continent & sixth largest country in the world. It is an island that comprises of Australia as a continent, Tasmania island and few more smaller islands. It is located in Oceania that comes between the Indian and South Pacific oceans. The entire nation is divided into six states and they are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. Most of the continent consists of low desert plateau, southeast, however, have fertile plains. the continent has most diverse wildlife on earth. There are plenty of wildlife parks that hosts kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and more.

Australia is considered as a developed nation with 12th largest economy and sixth highest per-capita income in the world. It is popularly known for high life expectancy, quality of life, education, biodiversity and tourism. The security exchange of Australia which is located at Sydney is the 16th largest stock exchange in the world in terms of domestic market capitalization. The currency of Australia is ‘Dollar’ and is represented by the symbol ‘$’ and is interchangeable with U.S. dollars.

Due to its wide geographical size, the climate of Australia varies widely. But most of the land is desert or semi-arid except the south-east and south-west corners. These corners have temperate climate and fertile soil too. The climate in the north of Australia is tropical that varies between tropical rainforests, grasslands and desert. The climate is suitable to Indian students as it is moderate.

Almost all universities in Australia accept three-year graduation qualification as a pre-requisite to any master program. For examples, Indian bachelor degrees like B.Com, B.A., etc. can make you qualify for post-graduate programs in Australia. However, few universities either prefer to have a bachelor’s degree equivalent to Australian Bachelor program or 16 years of formal education like B.Tech and B.E. Along with education, another criteria is to pass IELTS/ PTE/ TOEFL. For admission into Business Programs and G8 universities, GMAT score is also a mandatory criteria.

The cost of tuition fee in Australian Universities typically ranges from 11,000 AUD to 35,000 AUD which is again subject to variation based on undergraduate or graduate level. Apart from this, you need to bear student accommodation tariff, insurance costs and others.

Australia allows international students to work on a part time basis while they pursue their university studies. Students are allowed to work for both on campus and off campus for up to 20 hours during the week during the academic session. They can work full time during Semester Breaks & Vacations.
